Bawku, Ghana – The town of Bawku has been plunged into mourning following the tragic killing of a 13-year-old boy in the Singnatinga-Possum enclave.
The young victim, identified as Sherif, was killed while tending to livestock near the old cattle market.
This latest incident brings the reported death toll since October to 42, highlighting the ongoing and devastating impact of the conflict in the region.
According to local sources, Sherif was ambushed and killed by unknown assailants, who also stole his livestock. The motive for the attack remains unclear, but it is suspected to be linked to the ongoing territorial and ethnic disputes that have plagued the region.
The body of the deceased was transported to Kpalugu, a nearby suburb of Bawku, for burial.
