Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change, has unveiled an ambitious plan focused on 15 thematic areas aimed at transforming the Greater Accra Region into one of the top five best-structured cities in Africa.

In his proposal, Kyerematen highlighted plans to overhaul Accra’s transportation network, enhance traffic management, improve waste disposal systems, and alleviate congestion in the Central Business District. He stated that these reforms are crucial for addressing the region’s pressing urban challenges.

During a press conference as part of his Greater Accra caravan tour, Kyerematen introduced the “Greater Accra Regeneration Initiative” (GARI), which aims to revitalize the capital city by 2030.

He expressed confidence that, if elected, this initiative would create a well-organized and livable environment for Accra’s residents.

“This is a 15-point agenda for the Redevelopment of the Greater Accra Region, branded as the GARI project, with the goal of making Accra one of Africa’s top five cities by 2030,” he explained.

Kyerematen emphasized that this vision aligns with the strategic objectives of the Great Transformational Plan (GTP) of the Movement for Change. He noted that the implementation of the GARI Project would involve a thorough review and alignment of all ongoing government and donor-funded initiatives aimed at redeveloping Accra.
