Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Campaign Spokesperson and Special Aide to National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama, has urged voters to critically evaluate recent healthcare promises made by New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mogtari’s comments come in response to Dr. Bawumia’s pledge to provide free dialysis treatment for renal patients, set to commence on December 1.
She criticized this announcement, suggesting that Bawumia, as Vice President, already possesses the authority to implement such initiatives, implying that the promise may be politically motivated.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on November 12, Mogtari highlighted Mahama’s track record of fulfilling campaign promises, contrasting it with what she described as Bawumia’s lack of action.
She noted that the NDC had previously included similar commitments in their manifesto, addressing vital healthcare needs such as specialized fertility and dialysis services.
Mogtari encouraged Ghanaians to support the NDC in the upcoming elections to ensure better access to healthcare for all.
“We often express our biased views without realizing that people can see through them. Long before @MBawumia promised free dialysis treatments to secure votes, John Mahama and the NDC had already made a similar commitment in the People’s Manifesto, which has been overlooked.
“Dear voters, you have a clear choice: the man currently in power who has the means to meet your needs but has chosen not to, versus the man who has consistently proven that he delivers on his promises.
“Don’t be misled by grandiose claims. Vote wisely for #JohnMahama so we can build a Ghana together where everyone has access to improved healthcare, including specialist fertility treatments and dialysis services.”
