Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed strong confidence in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that he has the ability to transform Ghana’s economy if elected in the upcoming December polls.
Mr. Kufuor praised Dr. Bawumia’s impressive skills in economic management, highlighting his successful partnership with the Bank of Ghana to strengthen the local currency during Kufuor’s presidency.
In a conversation with select journalists on Sunday, November 17, the former President urged Ghanaians to give Dr. Bawumia their decisive support, emphasizing his potential to drive the country’s economic growth.
“Given the current global situation, I firmly believe that Ghana’s economy will improve significantly if Bawumia is elected as President. With divine guidance, he can fulfill this promise, and I encourage you to support his candidacy,” Kufuor stated.
He noted, “I have witnessed his remarkable abilities in economic development during my time in office. He played a key role on the Bank of Ghana’s team under Governor Dr. Paul Acquah, contributing significantly to the revival of our currency.”
