The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to avoid repeating the mistakes of the 2016 and 2020 elections by supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking at a mini rally at the Nsawam Adoagyiri lorry station as part of his five-day tour of the Eastern Region on November 18, Mahama called on citizens to take the opportunity to improve the country’s struggling fortunes by voting for him and the NDC.
He pointed out that many supporters of the NPP are disillusioned with their party’s leadership and have become disengaged from this year’s elections. He encouraged these individuals to instead back the NDC, emphasizing the need for a change in governance.
“In 2016, we made a poor choice, and in 2020, we repeated that mistake. But I believe that on December 7, 2024, we will correct our past errors and restore the NDC to power,” he declared.
“Everyone desires a better life and development. Our choices have consequences: if we vote wisely, we will enjoy freedom and progress; if not, we will face hardships. December 7 presents another chance to right our wrongs by supporting the NDC,” he concluded.
