Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shed light on his future plans, hinting at a potential career shift after his current contract expires.
While recently signing a new deal that keeps him with City until 2027, Guardiola revealed a preference for a national team role over managing another club.
Speaking on Spanish chef Dani Garcia’s YouTube channel, Desmontadito, Guardiola stated, “I’m not going to manage any other club after City… Maybe a national team, but that’s different.”
This comes after speculation linked him to the England job following Gareth Southgate’s departure. Though Thomas Tuchel ultimately filled that position, Guardiola’s name has also surfaced in connection with the Brazilian national team.
With his proven track record, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy at City, Guardiola is likely to receive numerous offers once he decides to leave Manchester.
Currently, however, Guardiola’s focus remains on navigating a challenging period for his City side, who recently dropped points against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Their next challenge comes on Wednesday as they face Juventus in the Champions League.
