President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence that future generations will recognize the transformative efforts and economic strides his government has made to propel Ghana forward.
In his remarks during the launch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Bicentennial Anniversary at the Osu Castle on Sunday, December 22, 2024, the outgoing President reflected on his administration’s achievements across various sectors, particularly in health, education, and energy, which he said have significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians.
“I am proud of what my government has accomplished with the guidance of God and the support of the Ghanaian people. From groundbreaking reforms in education, healthcare, and agriculture to major infrastructure projects and efforts to strengthen good governance, we have laid the groundwork for lasting progress,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
He went on to add, “I am confident, in all humility, that posterity will judge the Akufo-Addo government favorably. Future generations will look back on this era and recognize the strong foundation we built for national development and prosperity.”
The President also praised the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for its enduring contributions to the country over the past two centuries, noting its role in spreading the gospel and its broader impact on national development.
“The influence of the church extends beyond schools and hospitals; it has shaped the moral fabric of our society. As President, I have often found strength and guidance in the word of God. Throughout my time in office, the Presbyterian Church has been a steadfast partner, offering prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support for my administration’s vision of national transformation. For this, I am deeply grateful.”
He concluded by acknowledging the church’s vital role in sustaining him during challenging times. “Your prayers have kept me going, and your faith has inspired me to continue persevering in the face of adversity,” Akufo-Addo said.
