The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Kwetey, has issued a stern warning that those involved in electoral malpractices will not escape accountability.
In a succinct post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kwetey cautioned individuals implicated in election irregularities, signaling that there will be a time for reckoning following the anticipated transition of power on January 7.
“Electoral crimes have no expiry date. After January 7, the time of reckoning will come,” Kwetey’s post stated.
His remarks come as the Electoral Commission (EC) continues its re-collation exercise for nine contested constituencies. The EC has already commenced the re-collation of results for these constituencies at its regional office in Accra.
So far, results have been declared in seven constituencies, all of which have favored the New Patriotic Party (NPP). These constituencies include:
- Ahafo Ano North
- Techiman South
- Ahafo Ano South West
- Nsawam Adoagyiri
- Obuasi East
- Okaikwei Central
- Tema Central
Kwetey’s comments signal the NDC’s intention to pursue legal action and justice for what it views as electoral malpractices, indicating that the party’s efforts will extend beyond the immediate post-election period.
