Former Porto manager Sergio Conceicao has been appointed as the new head coach of AC Milan, replacing the sacked Paulo Fonseca.
Conceicao, a former midfielder with a distinguished playing career in Italy, signed an 18-month contract with the Italian giants.
His first match in charge will be a highly anticipated clash against Juventus in the first leg of the Italian Super Cup on January 3rd, where he will face his son, Francisco, who plays for the Turin club.
Conceicao’s appointment comes after Milan dismissed Fonseca on Monday following a disappointing start to the season. The club currently sits eighth in the Serie A table, 14 points behind league leaders Atalanta and Napoli.
This marks a significant change for Milan, who are seeking to return to the top of Italian and European football.
