AP Media can confirm that Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, will be appointed as the new Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament.
Reliable sources within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have revealed that this leadership change follows President Mahama’s decision to nominate the current Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, as Finance Minister.
Ayariqa, a seasoned parliamentarian with extensive experience in both government and Parliament, is set to replace Forson.
Known for his in-depth knowledge of parliamentary procedures and his ability to foster collaboration, Ayariga’s leadership is expected to guide the majority caucus effectively, given the NDC’s strong position in Parliament.
Throughout his political career, Ayariga has held several ministerial positions, including Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and Minister for Information.
His combination of experience, strategic insight, and persuasive debating skills makes him a natural choice to lead the NDC’s parliamentary team.
