Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has been officially named the new Leader of the Majority Caucus in Ghana’s Parliament.
He succeeds Cassiel Ato Forson, who has now taken on the role of Minister of Finance.
In a press statement issued on January 23, Ayariga confirmed the appointment and expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting him with the responsibility.
The newly appointed Majority Leader pledged to prioritize the pursuit of the agenda to reset Ghana, emphasizing national unity, the advancement of democracy, and the promotion of equitable development.
As the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in the 9th Parliament, Ayariga is committed to driving the government’s agenda with a focus on collaboration and progress for the country.
