Accra, Ghana – Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The appointment, effective Monday, January 27, 2025, was officially announced in a letter dated January 23 and signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.

This decision aligns with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804). The appointment awaits the constitutionally mandated advice of EOCO’s Governing Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Dapilah succeeds Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah and is expected to leverage his expertise to enhance EOCO’s strategic operations, ensuring effective law enforcement and bolstering the fight against organized crime.
