A committee tasked with investigating the disruption during the ministerial vetting process will begin holding public hearings on Wednesday, February 5.
Formed by Speaker Alban Bagbin, the committee is set to review the events that occurred on January 30, which led to a confrontation between the Minority and Majority over the vetting schedule and the destruction of equipment.
The committee, chaired by Ho West MP Emmanuel Bedzrah, includes members Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng.
It has been given a 10-day deadline to report its findings and recommendations.
Speaker Bagbin emphasized the importance of maintaining order in Parliament and stressed that the hearings are crucial for restoring public trust and ensuring the effective functioning of Parliament.
The outcome of this investigation could have significant implications for the conduct of parliamentary affairs and governance in Ghana.
