At the Chinese Lantern Festival Gala, Mahama stresses the importance of collaboration with China for Ghana’s economic recovery.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has reassured Ghanaians that strategic actions are underway to address the country’s economic difficulties and restore stability.

Speaking as the keynote speaker at the Chinese Lantern Festival Gala at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 9, Mahama highlighted the importance of both domestic efforts and international partnerships in overcoming the nation’s economic challenges.

Mahama emphasized the strong ties between Ghana and China, describing China as a crucial development partner. He underscored the significance of international cooperation in tackling both global and national issues, committing to Ghana’s economic recovery and long-term sustainability.

“As we gather to celebrate this festival, let us also reflect on its deeper meaning,” Mahama said. “The world faces numerous challenges—economic instability, global conflicts, climate change, and emerging health crises. But the light of this festival serves as a reminder that even in the darkest times, hope should never fade.”
