Manchester United fans protest against rising ticket prices at Old Trafford

The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) has called on the Premier League to support a division-wide freeze on ticket prices for the upcoming season, as part of their “Stop Exploiting Loyalty” campaign.

This appeal comes amidst growing fan discontent over rising ticket costs, with recent protests at clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, and Manchester City. Brentford and Liverpool have already pledged to freeze their ticket prices.

The FSA has emphasized the urgency of the situation, as clubs are currently setting ticket prices for the next season. They are advocating for:

  • A division-wide ticket price freeze.
  • The protection of all concessionary ticket prices.
  • Improved dialogue between clubs and fans regarding ticketing issues.

Recent protests have highlighted the growing frustration among fans. Manchester City and Liverpool supporters jointly displayed a banner protesting price hikes, while Manchester United fans protested the removal of concessionary discounts for children and pensioners.

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe defended the changes, arguing that Manchester United tickets should not be priced below those for smaller clubs like Fulham.
