President John Dramani Mahama today met with members of the Constitution Review Commission for their inaugural stakeholder consultation.
Chaired by Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh, the Commission engaged the President to gather his views on the constitutional review process and to discuss areas they believed required amendment.
During the meeting, the Commission also took the opportunity to update President Mahama on their progress and outline areas where they would need further support.
President Mahama expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far and reiterated his government’s commitment to continuing support for the review process.
The President highlighted key issues such as the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the remuneration of Article 71 office holders, and the appointment of Ministers from Parliament as critical areas that require amendments to enhance Ghana’s governance framework.
