The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection has announced the immediate termination of the contracts for all Regional and Zonal Coordinators under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).

In a statement issued on March 4, 2025, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey confirmed the mass termination, expressing gratitude to the affected coordinators for their service.

“Please be informed that the contracts of all Regional and Zonal Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) are hereby terminated with immediate effect,” the statement read.

The dismissed coordinators have been instructed to report to the GSFP Secretariat to collect their termination letters and complete the necessary handover procedures.

The statement, which was shared with the Chief Director, National Coordinator of GSFP, and the Controller and Accountant General, did not provide specific reasons for the sudden decision.

The GSFP is a significant government initiative aimed at offering free meals to schoolchildren to boost enrollment, attendance, and nutrition. However, the program has faced ongoing challenges, including funding delays, allegations of corruption, and outstanding payments to caterers.
