Alexander Akwasi Acquah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, has called on the government to make substantial allocations to the Free Senior High School (SHS) Secretariat in the upcoming 2025 budget.
He emphasized the importance of sustaining and even increasing investment in the Free SHS program to ensure its continued success and provide necessary support to students and their families.
“It would be a serious mistake for the government to cut funding for Free SHS. We have done our part, and we expect that the program continues, with dedicated funding to ensure students don’t face unnecessary financial burdens,” Acquah stated.
The MP further stressed that adequate funding is crucial to maintaining the program’s effectiveness, enabling students to access the necessary resources without straining their families financially.
“We expect the government to allocate sufficient funds to the Free SHS Secretariat,” he added.
