Ghana’s Parliamentary Committee on Chieftaincy, Culture, and Religious Affairs has pledged its full support to religious and traditional leaders in promoting and preserving Ghanaian culture for national development.

According to Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, Chairman of the Committee and MP for Offinso North, many countries have achieved significant progress by prioritizing their cultural heritage.

He emphasized that Ghana cannot afford to overlook the importance of culture, religion, and chieftaincy, which have played a vital role in the country’s development since independence.

The Committee aims to work closely with traditional and religious leaders, organizations, and citizens to promote Ghanaian culture.

Hon. Laadi Ayii Ayamba, Ranking Member of the Committee and MP for Pusiga, assured that the Committee would be proactive in engaging with stakeholders across the country to achieve this goal.

Key areas of focus for the Committee include:

  • Promoting Cultural Heritage: Preserving and promoting Ghanaian culture for national development.
  • Supporting Traditional and Religious Leaders: Collaborating with leaders to promote cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Engaging Citizens: Working with organizations and citizens to promote Ghanaian culture and values.

By prioritizing cultural development, the Committee aims to contribute to Ghana’s social and economic progress.
