Six people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road accident on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, near the new ECG office in Adansi Dompoase, Ashanti Region.

The tragic crash involved three vehicles: a Toyota Corolla (registration GE 7271-24), a Sprinter minibus (GS 6383-20), and a VIP bus (GW 8455-23). According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the incident occurred around 1:00 PM when the Sprinter attempted to overtake the Corolla, which was turning into a washing bay.

In the process, the Sprinter veered off the road and became stuck in the middle of the highway, resulting in a collision with an oncoming VIP bus. The impact caused severe damage to the Sprinter, killing six passengers instantly. Several other individuals on board the minibus suffered serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

The GNFS received an emergency call at 12:43 PM and swiftly dispatched a rescue team led by ADOII Samuel Mensah. The operation was completed within 45 minutes, and by 1:28 PM, the victims’ bodies were handed over to the police. One injured person was urgently taken to the Fomena Government Hospital.

The official statement from the GNFS, issued on Saturday, April 26, confirmed the incident’s details and emphasized that investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.
