A fire broke out on the night of Saturday, June 21, damaging part of the official residence of Afigya Kwabre South District Chief Executive (DCE), Pearl Ankrah.

The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the DCE’s bungalow in Kodie. The affected section of the building was reportedly under renovation and had not yet been occupied by Madam Ankrah, according to her spokesperson, Solomon Kwaku Adomako.

Firefighters from the Mamponteng Division of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly, successfully containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to other areas of the residence.

No injuries or casualties were reported. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
