Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to cease what he describes as the continued harassment of former government appointees.

Speaking to the media, Adomako expressed strong disapproval of what he claims are politically motivated investigations and actions targeting individuals who served in previous administrations. According to him, such tactics undermine democratic principles and create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

“The NIB must operate professionally and not be used as a tool for political witch-hunts,” he said. “Former appointees, like all citizens, deserve fair and dignified treatment under the law.”

Adomako urged the NIB to focus on its core mandate of national security rather than engaging in activities that may appear to be partisan. He also appealed to civil society and the media to hold institutions accountable and protect democratic freedoms.

The statement comes amid growing concerns over the treatment of past government officials and what some see as an erosion of due process in the name of accountability.
