Arsenal have been handed encouraging news after initial scans revealed that neither Bukayo Saka nor Martin Odegaard sustained serious injuries in their 5-0 victory over Leeds United.

Captain Martin Odegaard was forced off in the first half with a shoulder issue, while Saka was substituted early in the second half after scoring Arsenal’s second goal, appearing to suffer a hamstring problem.

Post-match, manager Mikel Arteta admitted concern over Saka’s condition, describing it as “significant.” However, further assessments have eased those fears, with sources confirming that neither player is expected to be sidelined for a lengthy period.

Saka’s injury was particularly alarming given his history—a right hamstring tear last season that kept him out for four months. Fortunately, the knock sustained on Saturday was to the opposite leg and is believed to be far less severe.

The Gunners are already contending with the absence of forward Kai Havertz, who is out with a knee injury. In response, Arsenal moved swiftly to bolster their squad with the £60 million signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

Christian Norgaard and Gabriel Jesus also missed the Leeds clash due to injury, further testing Arsenal’s squad depth.

Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture is a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on 31 August.
