Crystal Palace have reached a deal in principle worth up to £26 million with Villarreal for Spain international winger Yeremy Pino.

The 22-year-old is reportedly open to the move to Selhurst Park and is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days.

Pino’s contract with Villarreal includes a £69 million release clause, but with less than two years remaining on his deal, the Spanish club have agreed to accept Palace’s offer.

Palace’s pursuit of Pino follows the recent departure of England forward Eberechi Eze, who completed a £60 million transfer to Arsenal last week. Eze was Palace’s standout player last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists across 43 appearances, playing a key role in the club’s historic FA Cup victory.

After Palace’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, manager Oliver Glasner expressed confidence that new signings would arrive before the transfer deadline on Monday, despite a relatively quiet window so far.

This summer, Palace have secured only two signings: goalkeeper Walter Benitez from PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer, and defender Borna Sosa, who joined from Ajax for £3 million.

In addition to Pino, Palace have also shown interest in Manuel Akanji, the 30-year-old Swiss defender currently at Manchester City, whom the club value at around £15 million.

Yeremy Pino began his career in the youth ranks of Las Palmas before moving to Villarreal in 2017. He made his senior debut in 2020 and scored four goals in 34 La Liga appearances last season, helping Villarreal finish fifth and qualify for the Champions League.

Internationally, Pino has scored three goals in 15 appearances for Spain since making his debut in 2021.
