In a significant move signaling unity and determination ahead of the upcoming 2024 general elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made a historic visit to the NPP headquarters on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
His visit was aimed to officially engage with the national leadership of the Party following his election as the NPP’s flagbearer and leader of the party and thanked them for a successful election.
During his visit, Dr. Bawumia met with the National Executive body of the NPP, as well as the staff at the Party’s headquarters.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and optimism as party members welcomed their flagbearer with open arms.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stressed the importance of unity within the party.
He emphasized that the party’s success in the upcoming elections would depend on the collective efforts of all stakeholders.
“I stand before you today as the flagbearer of the NPP, but I want to make it clear that victory in 2024 will not be achieved by one person alone. It will be a collective effort, and we must all work together towards this common goal,” Dr. Bawumia stated.
The Vice President also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the NPP’s national leadership and staff, recognizing their instrumental role in the party’s growth and success over the years. He pledged to collaborate closely with them in the coming months to build a robust campaign strategy that resonates with the aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
“I am here to listen to your ideas, your concerns, and your suggestions. Together, we will craft a vision for Ghana that addresses the needs of all citizens. We will engage with all stakeholders and work tirelessly to secure victory for the NPP in the 2024 elections,” Dr. Bawumia affirmed.
He assured that as leader of the Party, he would serve as a father to all stakeholders regardless of class, religion, identity and place of origin.
He also noted that he was excited about working with all stakeholders of the Party and pledged to urgently engage other aspirants of the Party’s Presidential Primaries.
Dr. Bawumia also indicated that as leader of the Party, he will at all times be opened to the opinions, advice and suggestions of all Party stakeholders as he seeks to rally the rank and file of the Party for victory.
He pledged that his office would be accessible to all Party members and also collaborate with the headquarters of the Party, which he remarked, serves as the engine of the NPP.
In a brief address, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, National Chairman of the Party, reiterated the need for unity and collaboration amongst all stakeholders of the Party.
The visit by the NPP flagbearer is seen as a significant step towards solidifying party unity and harnessing the collective strength of NPP members. It also demonstrates Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to inclusivity and his desire to involve all stakeholders in shaping the party’s agenda for the upcoming elections.
