The immediate past Communication Director for the Ashanti Regional Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Kwakwa says his ambition to enter Parliament in 2025 is to give hope to the youth of Mampong who now live in despondency.
Speaking to this reporter, Mr Kwakwa said the Mampong constituency despite being a stronghold of the governing NPP cannot boast of any proper development.
The youth of the town, he stated have been left to idle around because there are no jobs in the community for them to do.
“I can tell you that the youth of Mampong are increasingly becoming desperate and despondent because there are no jobs for them to do and but for God they would have been wayward”, Mr Kwakwa stated.
Vision:
The Mampong indigene and NPP parliamentary hopeful said he was determined to lead the constituency out of the woods when he wins the upcoming NPP primary in the constituency.
He stated that it was heartbreaking that no proper employment churning development projects are in Mampong despite having their MP doubling as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.
No youth, he mentioned has had any opportunity to even travel abroad to upgrade or learn something for the benefit of the Mampong Community.
“Mampong has a terrible case and it is saddening that despite having our MP as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs no development project or initiative that could transform the lives of the youth can been seen”, the aspiring MP said.
Desire:
Mr Kwakwa said his desire is to see the youth of Mampong gainfully employed.
He noted that the area boasts of famous teaching and nursing training colleges as well as notable Senior High schools but could boast of little impact in the Mampong constituency.
He expressed desire to lead the constituency and use his influence to lobby for development projects and initiatives to Mampong.
“By God’s grace i have served the NPP very well and i used my positions as youth Organiser at Mampong, Ashanti Region and Director of Communications for Ashanti very well and i know i would get every support i would need to help my people when i get the nod as MP”, Mr Kwakwa intimated.
