Ghana striker Inaki Williams continues to excel in La Liga, scoring his second consecutive goal for Athletic Bilbao in their dominant 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano.
Williams scored after a superb assist from Guruzeta, netting his team’s third goal at the San Mames Barria, solidifying his position as a key player for both club and country.
Nico Williams, the younger brother of Inaki, found the back of the net as well. This followed his recent commitment to the club, as he inked a new three-year contract, brushing off interest from both Barcelona and Liverpool.
With seven goals and three assists in just 15 games, Williams is leading Athletic’s charge for European football. They now sit in fifth place with 28 points.
His impressive form has also made him a valuable asset for Ghana ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he will be looking to help the Black Stars secure their fifth continental title.
Williams’ recent performances have been so impressive that he is now level with Alvaro Morata and Robert Lewandowski in terms of league goals scored this season, cementing his status as one of the top strikers in the division.
