The Supreme Court has postponed the case involving the Electoral Commission (EC) and Oliver Barker-Vormawor, convenor of #FixTheCountry, to reconstitute the panel.

Barker-Vormawor had petitioned President Akufo-Addo to remove the EC Chair and deputies over their handling of the SALL issue, alleging they denied the people of SALL the right to vote in the 2020 elections.

The EC Chair countered with a lawsuit against Barker-Vormawor, citing the publication of the petition’s content in the public domain, contrary to Article 146(8) of the Constitution.

In court, Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo recused herself due to being listed as a defendant, and the case was adjourned for a new panel to be formed.

Notably, social media influencer Elorm Ababio, aka Ama Governor, appeared as part of Barker-Vormawor’s legal team, after being recently called to the bar despite previous denials by the General Legal Council due to “conduct unbecoming of an applicant”.
