Some unidentified persons have set ablaze the house of the fetish priest who is alleged to have shot dead three persons at Barniekrom in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
On Tuesday, 2nd July 2024, a fetish priest, Osman Majeed allegedly shot dead three persons who he accused of attacking him.
The suspect Osman Majeed went into hiding after the incident and is still at large. In an alleged reprisal attack, some unknown persons have set the house of the suspect ablaze.
The assemblyman for Barniekrom electoral area, Kingsley Asare who confirmed the incident to the media noted that although calm has been restored in the area, they want the police to keep patrolling the area to maintain the situation.
According to him, the chief informed him that information reaching him indicates that the residence of Komfo Osman has been burnt hence he organised the unit committee members to go to the place to confirm the incident.
He added that they’ve officially reported the incident to the police though the community has returned to normal but he still believes the security services will continue monitoring the situation at Barniekrom.”
Meanwhile, one person who is believed to be a friend of the suspect has been arrested by the police.
