Spain have won the 2024 European Championship and have made history by becoming the European nation with the most Euros titles (four) to its credit.
The Spanish triumphed in the 2024 Euros held in Germany by beating England 2-1 at the Berlin Olympic Stadium with goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Nico Williams.
By winning all three group stage games and securing wins at the Round 16, Quarterfinal, Semifinal and Final stage respectively, the Iberian nation gets to pocket $30.7 million in prize money.
According to UEFA, each participating nation in this year’s Euros is guaranteed $10.1 million with a win in each of the three group stage games fetching $1.1 million and $543,348 in a draw.
A win at the Round of 16 stage comes with a $1.6 million payout while a Quarterfinal win fetches a payment of $2.7 million.
Spain’s 2-1 semifinal win over France came with a $4.3 million kitty and $8.7 million went to the Spaniards for beating England in the final.
On the part of the Three Lions, Gareth Southgate’s men drew twice and beat Serbia 1-0 in Group C and lost in the final but got rewarded with a sum of $5.4 million after losing to Spain.
England walk away from the 2024 Euros with a silver medal and $26,286,696 in prize money. In comparison, Cote D’Ivoire won the 2023 AFCON and bagged $7 million in prize money while Qatar won the 2023 Asian Cup and walked away with $5 million in prize money.
