Two cases of Dengue Fever have been confirmed in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, following tests conducted on some four persons in the district.
The confirmed cases by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research are of a 24-year-old female and a 21-year-old male who are both responding to treatment according to a circular signed by the Acting Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr David Sarpong Opong.
GHS had earlier reported a total of 36 dengue cases on July 17 in the Eastern and Central regions, affecting some farmers in the Birim Central, Birim North, Akyemansa, Birim South and Achiase districts in the Eastern Region.
The samples according to the GHS, were taken following an enhanced surveillance.
Health experts in the Oti Region are, however, making concerted efforts to contain the outbreak of Dengue Fever following the detection of the two cases.
