The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with the recent murders and robberies of mobile money vendors in the region.

The victims, Patricia Nimako and Gideon Owusu Sarpong, were targeted in separate incidents on February 13 and March 10, 2025, in Krofrom and Kwadaso, respectively.

In a press briefing on March 25, 2025, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe, confirmed that the three suspects were arrested on March 21, 2025. He added that efforts to locate a fourth suspect are ongoing.

DCOP Cudjoe provided further details, stating, “The first incident occurred on February 13, 2025, in Krofrom, where Patricia Nimako was tragically killed and robbed of money. The second incident took place on March 10, 2025, when Gideon Owusu Sarpong was murdered at his home in Kwadaso after being robbed.”

The arrested suspects have been identified as 23-year-old Charles Kwame Danso, also known as Kwame Charles, Philip Fordjour, and Samuel Adae Mensah. They are currently in police custody and will soon appear in court to face charges.

Authorities are also actively searching for a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, who is also known by the aliases Augustine Amoah and Elliase Baba Macho. He is believed to be hiding in areas such as Kumasi, Dunkwa-Offin, Diaso, or Accra.

The police are calling on the public to assist in locating Martin Amoah. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the police through the toll-free numbers 191, 112, or 18555.
