A tragic robbery incident occurred in Manso Watreso, located in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region, on January 13, 2025.
Two Okada riders from Manso Kwabenaso were killed after being unknowingly hired by suspected armed robbers.
Around 5:30 p.m., the riders, including 26-year-old Japheth, were hired to transport two unknown individuals from Manso Kwabenaso to Watreso. Unbeknownst to the riders, their passengers were armed robbers who carried out the attack, escaping with approximately GHC 11,000, 30 pounds of gold, and car keys.
Following the robbery, the riders were lynched by an angry mob, who mistakenly suspected their involvement in the crime. The bodies of the victims were later transported to St. Martin’s Hospital in Manso Agroyesum by the Manso Adubia District Police.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to track down the two suspects who managed to flee the scene.
