The town of Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality has been left in shock and grief following the suspected ritual murder of a five-year-old girl on Monday evening, May 12, 2025.
According to preliminary police reports, the child went missing shortly after her mother briefly stepped out, leaving her and a younger sibling asleep at home. Upon returning, the mother discovered her daughter was gone, prompting an immediate and frantic search by neighbors.
The search ended in horror when blood-stained clothing belonging to the child was discovered at the home of Ahiable Yao David, a local fan milk vendor and known church choir member. Further investigation by the police led to the discovery of a buried pot in the suspect’s room, reportedly containing human remains believed to be that of the missing girl.
The suspect, David, is currently at large, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
The brutal nature of the crime has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents demanding swift justice and heightened security measures. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating the suspect.
