In a dramatic turn of events during President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address (SONA), his aide-de-camp, Colonel Isaac Amponsah, unexpectedly collapsed while standing at attention beside the President.
The incident occurred midway through the highly anticipated speech, causing a brief interruption as the President paused to seek immediate assistance.
The unexpected collapse startled many in the room, with Speaker Alban Bagbin, Vice President Dr. Bawumia, and Members of Parliament (MPs) visibly shaken by the scene.
Col. Amponsah, a dedicated member of the President’s security team for many years, lost his footing without warning.
Security personnel quickly responded, and a medical team attended to him, escorting him out of the chamber for urgent care.
