Asante Kotoko, the Ghanaian football giants, have been forced to temporarily relocate their home matches to the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
This decision comes in the wake of the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for renovation.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) withdrew its approval of the Baba Yara Stadium earlier this year, citing concerns about the playing field’s condition.
The stadium’s deficiencies were highlighted during the Black Stars’ 1-0 defeat to Angola in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Ministry of Sports has instructed the National Sports Authority (NSA) to address the issues with the Baba Yara Stadium’s pitch.
However, there is currently no timeline for its reopening.
Until the Baba Yara Stadium is ready, Asante Kotoko will continue to play their home matches at the Len Clay Stadium.
The team is expected to begin training at the new venue on Friday in preparation for their upcoming fixture against Young Apostles.
