The Ashanti Region has reported its first cases of cholera, with five confirmed cases recorded across three districts.

Sekyere South District has the highest number of cases, while Kumasi and Bekwai have each recorded one case.

The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has taken swift action, activating surveillance teams and conducting public health interventions in affected communities.

All confirmed cases have recovered, with the last patient discharged on December 24th.

However, the regional health authorities remain vigilant, given the recent cholera outbreaks in other parts of the country, including the Western Region, where 15 deaths have been reported.
