Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has delivered an inspiring message to his supporters following the party’s defeat in the 2024 presidential election.
Addressing NPP members, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the deep disappointment many party faithful are feeling but assured them that the fight for Ghana’s transformation is far from over.
“I know the feeling hurts,” Bawumia said, recognizing the tough emotions his supporters, especially the party’s grassroots, are experiencing. “This is not the result you worked for, and it’s natural to feel disheartened. But we will regroup, reflect on what happened, and come back even stronger. We will learn from this experience and use it to guide our future efforts.”
He reassured the party that while they may have lost the election, the broader political struggle continues. “We may have lost the battle, but not the war,” he declared, urging his supporters to remain hopeful and optimistic about the future.
Bawumia also emphasized the importance of unity within the party, calling for reflection, learning, and resilience as they move forward. He reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to holding the incoming government accountable while continuing to champion the spirit of transformation and progress for Ghana.
In closing, Dr. Bawumia urged all NPP members to stay united and maintain their faith in the party’s vision, despite the setback they face.
