Accra, Ghana – After a nearly seven-year legal battle, the state has withdrawn all charges against former Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) Chief Executive, Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, and businessman Seidu Agongo.
The announcement came on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, when State Attorney Enam Loh Mensah informed the High Court that the Attorney General had directed the withdrawal of all charges.
A formal notice of withdrawal was subsequently filed with the court.
Counsel for Dr. Opuni and Mr. Agongo confirmed they had received the notice. Justice Aboagye Tandoh presided over the court proceedings.
