Generational Curses
All Things Are Possible Conference 2024 – Day 2: The Sins That Bring Curses
Here are the highlights as preached by Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim, Founder and General Overseer of Action Power of Faith Ministries Worldwide.
Sins Against God
- Blasphemy: Speaking disrespectfully about God.
- Denying God’s Existence: Rejecting the existence of God opens individuals to demonic influence, leading them to disobey His commandments (Deut. 11:28). Those who defy God’s word find themselves living under a curse (Col. 3:6).
Sins Against God’s Servants
- Speaking Ill of God’s Servants: Criticizing or speaking against God’s appointed leaders can result in curses (Num. 12:6-11).
Sins Against Parents
- Insulting Parents
- Fighting Parents
- Incest
- Gazing Upon Their Nakedness: Engaging in any of these actions brings curses upon individuals (Gen. 49:3-4; 2 Sam. 16:22; Gen. 9:20-25).
Sins Against Marriage Partners
- Disrespecting a Spouse: Any form of disrespect can be detrimental (2 Sam. 6:12-16, 20-23).
- Divorce: This is only permissible in cases of adultery, witchcraft, attempted murder, or refusal to serve God together. Seeking divorce outside these reasons is discouraged.
Sexual Perversion
- Engaging in immoral sexual activities brings curses not only upon individuals but also their future generations:
- Rape
- Fornication: Engaging in sexual relations outside of marriage.
- LGBTQ+ Practices
- Incest: Sexual relations with parents or children.
- Bestiality: Sexual activity between humans and animals.
Ritual Murders
- Some families engage in murder for power or material gain, including:
- Royal and Chieftaincy Groups: Performing required murders for authority.
- Politicians: Committing murder for political power.
- Individuals: Engaging in murder for fame and wealth.
Stealing and Cheating
- Theft: Taking what does not belong to you.
- Cheating: Includes financial deception (Prov. 11:1) and defrauding others.
- Infidelity: Cheating on a spouse is a grave offense. Divorce should only occur under specified circumstances (Mal. 2:13-14).
- Cheating the Lord: Failing to tithe appropriately results in curses (Mal. 3:9).
These sins can lead to generational curses, impacting not just the individual but also their descendants. It is vital to recognize and address these behaviors to break the cycle of curses in families.
