Bolgatanga, Ghana – One person has been killed and five others critically injured in an ambush on a bus traveling from Bawku to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
The attack occurred despite the bus having a military escort.
The injured victims were transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for treatment.
While the motive remains unclear, the attack is suspected to be connected to the ongoing Bawku conflict, which has escalated since October 2024.
This latest incident brings the death toll from the renewed violence to 46, raising further concerns about security in the region.
