Former Ghana international Charles Sampson has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses.

Sampson replaces Yussif Basigi, who previously led the team at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The 44-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as an assistant coach for the Black Queens. He also has coaching experience in Sweden, where he managed Assyriska United Girls U-15 and Telge United FC.

Sampson will be supported by Fiifi Parker Hanson and Anita Wiredu, who retains her role as assistant coach.

The immediate focus for the new technical team will be to prepare the Black Princesses for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
