The family of Stephen King Amoah, the 38-year-old Immigration Officer allegedly murdered by a close friend, has voiced deep frustration over repeated delays in the ongoing court proceedings.
They say the continuous adjournments are compounding their grief and placing a heavy financial burden on them, as they must travel from the Ashanti Region to Accra for each court appearance.
The case, which has seen multiple postponements, has now been adjourned to October 22. Prosecutors are still awaiting a forensic report before they can forward the case docket to the Attorney-General’s office for further action.
Speaking to the media outside the courtroom, the late officer’s sister, Emelia Obeng, revealed she had taken a slipper belonging to the main suspect, Bright Aweh, as part of what she described as a spiritual ritual to bring him suffering.
At a previous hearing, the family also obtained a slipper from the second accused, Thomas Zigah, also known as Nii Dzaase.
Stephen King Amoah was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred remains were discovered six days later, on July 9, at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya — a discovery that sparked public outrage and prompted a major police investigation.
