Timilehin Ajayi, a gospel singer currently on trial for the alleged murder of his reported girlfriend, 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Salome Adaidu, captured attention in court on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, as he engaged in an intense prayer session during the hearing.

Ajayi appeared before the court in connection with a tragic incident that occurred on January 12 in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Salome, who was serving her NYSC with Nicon Insurance in Abuja, had reportedly visited Ajayi at his home in the Papalana area, where the unfortunate event unfolded, leading to serious allegations against him.

According to investigators, Ajayi was apprehended while allegedly attempting to dispose of Salome’s remains. During questioning, he is said to have admitted responsibility, citing relationship issues as his motive.

The courtroom fell into a heavy silence as Ajayi knelt and prayed intensely during the session. This moment elicited mixed reactions from observers, with some interpreting it as a spiritual plea and others finding it difficult to reconcile with the gravity of the case.

The trial remains ongoing, with no verdict yet delivered. Meanwhile, Salome’s family continues to seek justice for their daughter, who is remembered as a kind, promising, and deeply loved individual.
