Sunyani, Ghana – The Sunyani District Court ‘B’ has modified the bail conditions for Ignatius Baffour Awuah, former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, in connection with the death of Francis Fimpong (Nana Pooley).

Previously restricted to the Sunyani Municipality and required to seek court permission for travel, Mr. Awuah is now permitted to travel outside Sunyani. He must still surrender his passport to the court and report to the police weekly instead of daily.

Also in court, Police Inspector Duah Owusu Agyemang, 42, charged with murder in the same case, was granted bail of GH¢300,000 with two sureties.

He is required to submit his passport to the court within three days and report to the police station nearest his duty post. Inspector Duah was Mr. Awuah’s bodyguard.

Mr. Awuah, Inspector Duah, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiwaa, and Yaa Asantewaa, all charged with conspiracy to commit murder, remain on bail and are scheduled to reappear in court on March 10, 2025.

However, Isaac Fosu, Yeboah Augustine, and Yaw Koshy, also suspects in the case, were denied bail and remanded in police custody until March 3, 2025. The court noted that another suspect, Brimah, is currently at large.

Samuel Safo Duku, Communications Director for Asante Kotoko FC, was present in court, holding a watching brief.
