Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced that the government will abolish the COVID-19 levy in its upcoming budget.
Addressing Ghanaians living in Benin, Ablakwa stated that this will be the final of four taxes introduced by the previous administration to be scrapped, fulfilling a government promise.
His announcement was met with applause, particularly following his confirmation that the betting tax, E-Levy, and emissions tax had already been removed after presidential assent on April 2nd.
Ablakwa updated the Ghanaian community on developments in Ghana, urging their continued trust in the Mahama administration to deliver on its promises.
He also noted the government’s investment in youth development through dedicated funds.
