London, England – Crystal Palace have rejected a £70m bid from Tottenham Hotspur for defender Marc Guehi.
Guehi, an England international with 18 months remaining on his contract, has attracted interest from several top clubs. Newcastle United made four bids for the 24-year-old in the summer, with the highest reaching £65m, which Palace also rejected.
Chelsea, who sold Guehi to Palace for £18m in 2021, are also reportedly interested in re-signing him.
Guehi has been a key player for Palace this season, making 23 appearances and scoring three goals in the Premier League.
Tottenham are not expected to increase their offer for the defender.
Meanwhile, injury-hit Spurs are actively seeking defensive reinforcements. Despite signing Kevin Danso on loan from Lens on Sunday, they have been further hampered by injuries to Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie. Radu Dragusin also sustained a knee injury in their Europa League win over Elfsborg on Thursday.
Reports suggest Spurs have explored other defensive options, including Chelsea’s Axel Disasi and AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.
On Monday, Tottenham reached an agreement to sign French Under-21s forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich.
