Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has unveiled a plan to train one million young people in digital skills, starting with 5,000 from the Kwadaso Constituency.
This initiative is designed to equip the youth with essential skills such as coding, allowing them to work remotely from home.
At a constituency connect event in Kwadaso, Dr. Bawumia described the policy as a transformative job creation strategy that he believes will significantly enhance employment opportunities.
“The youth need skills. While we’ve implemented technical and vocational training, digital skills are now essential as the world becomes increasingly digital,” he stated.
He emphasized that individuals from Kwadaso could secure jobs with companies in the US, Canada, and Singapore, even if they are school dropouts.
“My aim is to train at least one million people in digital skills, beginning with 5,000 youth from Kwadaso. This will enable them to work internationally while remaining in their community,” Dr. Bawumia said.
