In a recent address to church members, Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim expressed deep concern about the growing misconceptions surrounding the concept of sin in local churches.
He stressed the urgent need for clarity on the issue, emphasizing that the definition of sin is determined by God, not by pastors who may misinterpret Biblical teachings.
Dr. Ephraim strongly rejected the idea that sin is only defined by personal feelings of guilt, stating, “If a pastor suggests that nothing is sinful unless one feels guilty about it, then we must question their understanding of sin.”
He clarified that sin is, at its core, a violation of God’s law, and its existence is independent of individual emotions, much like how civil laws are enforced regardless of personal feelings. “Transgression is transgression, regardless of how one feels,” he reiterated.
The spiritual leader warned that such misunderstandings could cause many in the congregation to live in sin without fully realizing its consequences. He criticized certain pastors for allegedly putting personal gain above spiritual guidance, asserting, “These pastors seem to be gathering followers for their own benefit rather than preparing them for Christ’s second coming.”
Dr. Ephraim also pointed to the rising influence of financial motivations among some church leaders.
He expressed concern that wealth and social status have become the primary focus for these pastors, leading them to flatter congregants and overlook immoral behaviors.
He even raised alarms about the presence of “demonic characters” within the church, urging members to examine their own spiritual paths.
In light of these concerns, Dr. Ephraim called for a collective effort to return to a proper understanding of sin and its consequences.
He encouraged both church leaders and members to align their beliefs and teachings with scripture, ensuring that the message of the gospel remains true to its Biblical foundation.
