Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, is urging medical officers and staff at the Kumawu Government Hospital to help operationalize the newly commissioned Drobonso hospital.
During his recent visit to the hospital, Dr. Amoakohene discovered that despite being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the hospital remains non-operational due to a lack of staff.
The Drobonso hospital was commissioned by the NPP government ahead of the 2024 elections, but surprisingly, no staff were recruited to manage the facility.
Dr. Amoakohene’s prompt intervention aims to prevent the hospital from falling into disrepair.
By collaborating with the staff at Kumawu, which serves as a parent district, the Minister hopes to tap into their expertise and ensure the Drobonso hospital becomes fully operational.
This move demonstrates the Minister’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services to the people of Drobonso and surrounding areas.
Interestingly, the Drobonso hospital is one of the many hospital projects undertaken by the government in the Ashanti Region.
According to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, over 32 hospital projects have been completed or are ongoing in the region since 2017.
